BOISE, Idaho – Emily Stiles took second place in the javelin and tallied a personal-best mark of 151-3 (46.11m) Saturday at the Border Clash. The mark is No. 35 in the NCAA West Region and puts the sophomore well within the top 48, likely giving her a spot at regionals.

The Broncos won four event titles Saturday, highlighting a weekend that saw nine total Blue and Orange victories.

Courtney Hutchinson put forth a solid effort in the shot put (47-1 / 14.58m) to grab the win while Baylee Dodd (42-3.25 / 12.88m) was close behind in third. Both marks were season bests for the two Boise State throwers.

Taj Dorsett bounded her way to 39-4 (11.99m) in her third attempt of the day in the triple jump, propelling her to the win over 10 other competitors. The junior swept the long jump and triple jump titles this weekend.

Bryce Kirby blew away the field in the 100m, clocking a 10.53 for the win in an effort that was just over the legal wind limit (+3.0) for record purposes.

Jose Rubio improved on his personal-best time from last weekend in the 400m hurdles and lowered it to 53.28 for a first-place result. Ryan Cavinta also had a career day, crossing the line in 54.80 for third. Ricardo Rodriguez (58.52) took fifth.

Chris Kiley (46-11.5 / 14.31m) and Drew Lindsley (46-3.5 / 14.11m) both tallied top-five finishes in the shot put, taking third and fourth place, respectively.

Cole Collins was just short of his PR in the javelin, finishing in fifth place thanks to a 169-5 (51.64m).

The pole vault saw sophomores Amber Mallet (12-0 / 3.66m) and Ashley Caffrey (11-0.25 / 3.36m) both fare well with second and fifth place performances. Bronco alum Allison Jeffries won the event after clearing 12-6 (3.81m).

Emma Hyyppa (12:01.38) was second in the 3,000m steeplechase while Erin Mullins (2:20.81) took eighth in the 800m.

Next weekend the Broncos will send two small groups of athletes to the Payton Jordan Invitational (Stanford, Calif.) and the Oregon Twilight (Eugene, Ore.) in pursuit of qualifying times for the NCAA West Regional Championships.
