BOISE, Idaho – Drew Lindsley and Kendra Noneman both picked up event titles on the first day of the Border Clash on Friday afternoon at Dona Larsen Park on Ed Jacoby Track. Lindsley threw a 163-7 (49.86m) to win the men’s discus and Noneman recorded a career-best 160-3 (48.85m) in the women's hammer throw to claim the victory.

On what was a windy day that affected all of the field events contested, Lindsley was able to defeat a headwind by producing a monster throw that was just shy of his PR, and Noneman dealt with a crosswind in the hammer by throwing for a two-foot PR.

Taj Dorsett was just shy of a PR in the women’s long jump, but the Nassau, Bahamas native was able to take second with a 17-10.25 (5.44m).

Kevin Ketterling also enjoyed a successful day, taking fifth in the discus (139-0 / 42.36m) and seventh (145-2 / 44.25m) in the hammer throw. Both marks were career bests for the redshirt freshman.

The women’s discus saw Paige Inman (126-6 / 38.55m) take fourth, Noneman (116-6 / 35.51m) was ninth and Paige Shepherd (94-9 / 28.88m) took 12th.

Other Broncos in the hammer throw on the women’s side was Courtney Hutchinson (154-8 / 47.15m) who took third and Paige Shepherd (118-10 / 36.23m) PR’d for 14th.

Lindsley led the men in the event by taking fourth thanks to a 151-2 (46.09m).

The Border Clash will resume tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. back at Ed Jacoby Outdoor Track.
