Sprints Finish Strong at Beach Invite

WALNUT, Calif.--The Boise State track & field team wrapped up its busy weekend, finishing at the Beach Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays. Jordin Andrade (400-meter hurdles) and Mackenzie Flannigan (200-meter dash) claimed second-place finishes on Saturday.

Andrade and Fernando Martinez were the lone Bronco competitors at Mt. SAC on Saturday. Both competed in the 400-meter open hurdles, where Jordin Andrade placed second overall in 50.62. Fernando Martinez placed fifth in his heat, running a time of 51.35.

Mackenzie Flannigan ran a blistering 23.72 in the 200-meter dash, finishing as the top collegian and second overall. Flannigan also ran the 100-meter dash, where she placed 9th in 11.78.

Megan Kelley also raced in the 200-meter dash, finishing second in her heat in 24.47. She'd go on to finish 13th overall. Kelley finished 12th in the 400-meter dash in 55.86. Kyle Kelley ran the men's 400 meters, where he finished in 48.52. Rex Stanley recorded a personal best in the same event, finishing in 50.58.

On the men's side, Alexandru Terpezan placed sixth overall in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 21.65. Terpezan ran a 10.64 in the 100-meter dash, placing 16th. Dusty Fisher ran his personal best in the 100 meters, racing to a time of 10.68.

Sadi Henderson raced in the 800 meters, where she ran a 2:17.30 to place 12th in her heat.

In the throws, Karyna Armstrong threw 174-10 (53.29m) in the hammer for 12th place. Juston Hamilton tossed 157-4 (47.97m) in the hammer, while Austin Hamilton threw 164-5 (50.13) in the javelin. Lacie Rasley marked 13.19m in the women's shot put for 20th place.
