Broncos Close Weekend Well

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Boise State wrapped up its three-day Southern California swing with the Beach Invitational on the campus of Long Beach State on Saturday afternoon.

The men’s sprinters were the only group who competed, as Fernando Martinez led the way with a 47.76 to take second in his 400m heat. Dusty Fisher competed in the premiere race and clocked a 47.80 to win the heat, using a dive at the finish line to secure the victory in what was a photo finish.

Alexandru Terpezan recorded a 10.56 and won his heat in the 100m and Bryce Kirby crossed the line in 10.69.

The Broncos will compete again in two weeks when they host their home meet – the Border Clash – at Dona Larsen Park on the Ed Jacoby Track from April 28-29.

NAMPA, Idaho –
Four different Broncos won individual titles at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational on Saturday, three of which came on the women’s side. Amy Pfaff won the 800m in 2:12.11, Kendra Noneman captured the hammer throw title with a 150-2.25 (45.77m) and Alyssa Adams shared the pole vault victory after clearing 10-6 (3.20m).

Noah Horsburgh was the lone winner on the men’s side, crossing the finish line in 1:53.29.

Emma Culig (1:00.90) and Morgan Diefendorf (1:03.90) were third and sixth in the 400m, respectively.

Kevin Ketterling had a busy day in the hammer throw (140-1.25 / 43.70m) and the shot put (39-1 / 11.91m). Matt McDonald clocked a 4:12.29 to take seventh in the 1,500m.
