TEMPE, Ariz. Sadi Henderson shattered the previous outdoor 800m school record (2:07.66) at the Sun Angel Classic on Friday night with a 2:04.39 to take third place in the 800m premiere race that featured professional runners and the best collegians in the country. Henderson’s time is also the fifth-fastest 800m time in Mountain West history.

The redshirt sophomore now is the school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor 800m. The 2:04.39 is also the third-fastest time in Division I so far this outdoor season.

Drew Lindsley turned heads for the second-straight day in Tempe, Ariz., by taking second in the men’s discus thanks to a personal-best throw of 161-1.75 (49.12m).

The men’s sprinters were solid as Bryce Kirby was able to log a third-place finish in the 100m after clocking a 10.64. Alexandru Terpezan (10.66) was close behind in fifth.

Terpezan excelled in his best event – the 200m – by taking fifth place with a 21.44. Kirby (21.76) finished in 10th.

Courtney Hutchinson (47-8.25 / 14.54m) led the way in the shot put by taking fourth and both Baylee Dodd (42-6 / 12.96m) and Paige Inman (40-1.75 / 12.24m) posted career-best throws and place 11th and 14th, respectively.

Christopher Kiley (41-9 / 12.73m) took 14th and picked up his first collegiate experience on the men’s side in the shot put, as well.

Highlights in the women’s 800m open race included Amy Pfaff (8th – 2:11.54) earning a top-10 result and Morgan Diefendorf was able to PR courtesy of a 2:19.55.

The Broncos were also well represented in the men’s 800m with four runners competing. Noah Horsburgh (1:53.66) and Melika Ghali (1:55.18) both finished in the top 25 in 18th and 22nd, respectively.
