TEMPE, Ariz. - The Boise State track and field team participated in the final day of the 2013 Arizona State Invitational on Saturday (March 23) at Sun Devil Stadium. Three men and seven women represented Boise State on the day, competing in throws, hurdles and distance events.

Javelin thrower Austin Hamilton earned the Broncos' highest finish on the day, placing sixth with a mark of 189'-6" (57.76m). His throw was only three-feet off from his lifetime best. Kyler Osborne recorded a career-best throw of 186'-7" (56.87m) to place ninth in the javelin.

Kyle Brush rounded out the Bronco men competing on Saturday, placing 14th in his first 1500-meter competition with a time of 4:00.58.

Emily Funkhouser collected the highest finish for the women on Saturday, placing seventh in the 400-meter hurdles. The senior clocked a lifetime best time of 1:01.81, bringing her within one-second of making Boise State's all-time top-three list. Kate Holman and Tajanee Simmons competed in the 100-meter hurdles with Holman collecting a 14th-place finish in 15.67-seconds. Simmons did not finish the race.

In the throws Whitney Amoth placed 17th in the shot put in her first outdoor competition, throwing 40'-11" (12.41m). Andrea Morones threw 116'-6" (35.50m) to place 13th in the javelin, while Lacie Rasley recorded a mark of 128'-10" (39.28m) to place 16th in her first discus competition. Alyssa Osai also competed in the discus, but recorded fouls on all three throws.

Boise State will return to action in one week at the Texas Relays March 27-30 in Austin, Texas.
