Stiles Wins Javelin Title at NNU

NAMPA, Idaho – Boise State sophomore Emily Stiles opened the outdoor season with a victory Friday afternoon at the NNU Open, winning the women’s javelin thanks to a throw of 127-10 (38.96m). The throw was the second longest of her career.

Freshman Liz Gaffney also fared well in her first collegiate meet, taking fourth with a mark of 123-4 (37.59m).

On the men’s side it was freshman Cole Collins (157-2 / 47.90m) leading the way with a seventh-place finish. Jared Budzinksi (139-10 / 42.62m) took eighth.

The NNU Open will continue tomorrow morning starting at 10 a.m.
