NAMPA, Idaho –
Boise State’s men’s and women’s track and field teams collected seven wins Saturday at the Bronco Invitational held at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Ford Idaho Center. The Bronco men collected four wins, while the women earned three titles and three record performances. 

Senior Mackenzie Flannigan had the first record performance of the day, clocking a school record time of 7.52-seconds to place second in the 60-meter dash. Flannigan went on to win the 200-meters later in the day with a time of 24.47-seconds.

For the second-straight week senior Hayli Bozarth made a big impact for the Broncos, capturing the weight throw title and placing second in the shot put. Bozarth’s mark of 64-10.75 (19.78m) in the weight throw marked the third-best in school history, while she improved her own school record in the shot put with a mark of 50-8.75 (15.46m). Karyna Armstrong joined Bozarth atop the weight throw results, placing second (60-0.25 / 18.29m) and Lacie Rasley placed fifth with a career-best of 55-9 (16.99m).

Senior Jasmyn Jewett added the final win on the women’s side, capturing the triple jump title with a mark of 39-3 (11.96m). Teammates Josephine Lawrence and Kimberly Miller helped Jewett to a 1-2-3 sweep of the event with Lawrence jumping 38-2.75 (11.65m) and Miller jumping 37-10 (11.53m).

On the men’s side of the action senior Matt Post was the first to earn a win on the day, taking the weight throw title with a personal-best throw of 60-5.25 (18.42m). Dominique Drayden earned the long jump title with a career-best jump of 23-0.50 (7.02m), while Ryan Sanders earned a third title for the team jumping 48-0.75 (14.65m) in the triple jump. Jordin Andrade earned the team’s final win of the day, taking the 400-meter title in a time of 48.12-seconds.

In the field events freshman Allison Jeffries tied her own school record in the pole vault, clearing 13-1.50 (4.00m) to place second. She also earned a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.03-seconds, although she clocked a personal-best time of 8.94-seconds in the prelims.

Additional top finishes from Boise State’s women included Megan Kelley’s second-place finish in the 400-meters (56.98), Jordan Ward’s second-place finish in the high jump (5-7 / 1.70m), Shannon Jacob’s indoor-best mark of 18-6 to place third in the long jump and Cara Strodel’s career-best time of 10:28.37 to place fourth in the 3000-meters.

For the men Kyle Brush placed second in the mile (4:20.17), while Bryce Bergevin placed third in the 800-meters (1:54.83). In the 3000-meters Kyle Merritt clocked a time of 8:37.13 to place second, while Nick Lobb placed third in 8:42.27.

The Bronco Invitational marked the fourth of five indoor home meets for the Broncos. Their fifth meet of the season, the Boise State Team Challenge, will take place next Saturday, Feb. 15 at Jacksons Indoor Track.
