Day One Results Get Acrobat Reader

NAMPA, Idaho – Juston Lindsley won the men’s weight throw and led the Broncos to a solid first day at the Jacksons/New Balance Indoor Invitational at Jacksons Track at the Ford Idaho Center. The junior from Grangeville, Idaho recorded a career-best throw of 55-1.5 (16.80m) to win the event.

Allison Jeffries took second in the women’s pole vault with a season-best height of 12-11.5 (3.95m), and freshman Taj Dorsett also was a runner-up in the long jump after recording a jump of 17-1.25 (5.21m).

On the women’s side of the weight throw it was Britlie Silvester (57-10.5 / 17.64m) taking second, and Karyna Armstrong – competing in her first meet of the indoor season – was close behind in fourth with a 57-2 (17.42m).

Several of the Bronco sprinters were competing in preliminary rounds throughout the course of the day. Chassity Love qualified to tomorrow’s finals in both the 60m and 200m dash with a 7.81 and a 25.26, respectively.

Dusty Fisher clocked a 6.98 in the 60m and a 21.72 in the 200m to qualify for both finals. Bryce Kirby also qualified for the 60m finals, running a 7.01. Alexandru Terpezan was the top qualifier on the men’s side for the 200m, clocking a season-best 21.54 to lead the field.

Danny Verdieck also qualified to tomorrow’s finals, running an 8.62 in the preliminaries of the men’s 60m hurdles.

Ozo Rojas and Kelsi Lasota were the two Bronco competitors in the 3,000m, as Rojas took second on the men’s side with an 8:42.07 and Lasota placed fourth with a personal-best time of 10:31.29.

Also in the weight throw, Drew Lindsley threw a season-best 46-6.75 (14.19m) for seventh place and Kevin Ketterling (45-3 / 13.79m) took ninth, also with a season-best throw.

The meet will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with the high school girl's shot put.
