Broncos Conclude Day One

NAMPA, Idaho – Three Broncos advanced from the preliminary heats to tomorrow’s final, highlighting the first day of the Jacksons Nike Boise Indoor Invite.

Alexandru Terpezan posted the fastest time in the 200m (21.74), and had the fifth-fastest time in the 60m (7.05) to advance to the finals of both events. Chelsea Walker advanced to the 200m final on the women’s side with a time of 25.05.

In the men’s 60m hurdles, Ryan Cavinta posted the second-fastest time of the prelims, 8.43, to advance to Saturday’s final. The time was one-thousandth of a second off his career best.

Drew Lindsley (52-10.25 / 16.11m) and Kevin Ketterling (52-3.75 / 15.94m) had career days to finish fourth and fifth, respectively, in the men’s weight throw.

Using a strong finish over the final three laps, Albert Beckham took third in the men’s 3,000m in a personal best 8:39.36.

In the women’s long jump, Taj Dorsett took second with a jump of 17-10.25 (5.44m).

Kendra Noneman put on a show in the women's weight throw. Her first three throws all eclipsed her previous career best, leading her to finish second. 

Tomorrow’s final day of the invitational will begin at 9 a.m. (MT).
