SEATTLE--
The Boise State track and field team competed in its first indoor away meet of the season on Saturday. A select amount of distance runners competed at the UW Invitational, where they set ten personal bests on the day.

Six Broncos competed among three heats in the men’s 3,000m race. Senior David Elliott shattered his personal record, running a time of 8:05.35 in the third heat. That time was good for the second-fastest 3,000m in school history. Elliott would go on to place ninth overall, while Michael Vennard would place 12th. Vennard won the second heat in a time of 8:12.55, and Louis McAfee (8:20.21), Jack Curran (8:22.20), Rhys Park (8:22.93) and Aaron Back (8:43.47) ran strong races as well.

Three women represented Boise State in the women’s 3,000m race. Anna Holdiman finished third in the first heat of the women’s 3000m in 9:48.14 and would go on to place 33rd overall. In the third and final heat of the distance, Emma Hyyppä placed 25th overall (9:38.72) while Marisa Howard placed 35th (9:49.11).

Freshman Sadi Henderson sets her personal best in the 800m, finishing second in the third heat of the women’s 800m in 2:15.68. Henderson would go on to finish 14th overall in a field of 43 runners. Ali Deitsch also set her personal best, recording a 2:16.90 for almost a four-second personal improvement.

Rici Morrill recorded her personal best in the fourth heat of the women’s mile. The senior hit a time of 4:55.50, her best indoor time since 2012.

The distance runners will head back to Boise and the team will host the Jacksons/NB Indoor, Feb. 6-7 at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.
