BOISE, Idaho-- The Boise State track and field team wrapped up the first day of competition at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and Multis on Friday. The Bronco men’s B distance medley relay highlighted the day with a first-place finish in 10:10.43 at the Jacksons Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.

The Bronco men’s track team formed two-scoring distance medley teams for the day. The “B” lineup of David Elliott, Jack Curran, Rhys Park and Louis McAfee took home a first-place finish in a time of 10:10.43. The Boise State “A” squad finished fourth in the six-team field in 10:20.56.

The meet began with the men’s heptathlon and the women’s pentathlon. Redshirt sophomore Danny Verdieck and freshman Camdon Stoddard represented Boise State in the heptathlon, where Verdieck finished the day in sixth place and Stoddard seventh through four events.

For their top finishes of the day, Stoddard finished fourth in the 60 meter dash (7.49) and Verdieck finished fifth in the long jump (5.99m).

The heptathlon will conclude tomorrow with the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000m beginning at 9 a.m.

The Bronco women formed two distance medley relay squads and finished third and fourth in a field of six. The A DMR squad of Sadi Henderson, Ali Deitsch, Emma Hyyppä and Kate Jette recorded a time of 12:21.48 for third. The B quartet of Morrill, Brinegar, Tostenson and McGuire stopped the clock in 12:37.59.

The Broncos will return to action tomorrow (Saturday) at 9 a.m. with the field events and men’s heptathlon. Collegiate running events will begin at 11 a.m.
