NAMPA, Idaho – Camden Stoddard stole the show for the Broncos Friday night at the Ed Jacoby Invitational, clearing a career-high 16-4.75 (5.00m) in the pole vault to earn the victory at the Ford Idaho Center. It was Stoddard’s second-career win in the pole vault and Boise State’s only first-place finish on a day that was occupied by the pentathlon, heptathlon, two distance medley relays and a handful of field events.

The men’s distance medley relay was an extremely busy event for the Broncos, as Boise State’s “Team B” group of Tom Richardson, Matt McDonald, Melika Ghali and Rhys Park took second thanks to a time of 10:16.41. The Broncos’ “Team C” was hot on their heels in third place after crossing the line in 10:17.13, while “Team A” was also close in fourth, clocking a 10:17.85.

“Team C” consisted of Yusuke Uchikoshi, Ozo Rojas, Jeff Lautenslager and Chandler Austin. “Team A” included Addison Dehaven, Noah Horsburgh, Ty Jordan and Miler Haller.

The women’s DMR team was also extremely successful, as “Team A” which consisted of Alexis Fuller, Morgan Diefendorf, Amy Pfaff and Gracie Tostenson ran a 12:18.72 for second place, finishing behind a team of professional runners that included Bronco alumna and All-American Marisa Howard. Boise State fielded another team that only consisted of three runners – Clare O’Brien, Sadi Henderson and Anna McDonald, but was not able to officially finish the race.

Freshman Kendra Noneman logged a career-best mark in the women’s weight throw, recording a 48-2.75 (14.70m) to take third place. Fellow freshman Paige Shepherd was 18th (33-6 / 10.21m).

Sophomore Justin Stattner was strong in the men's pole vault as well, clearing 14-5.25 (4.40m) for fifth place.

The Broncos will be back at the Ford Idaho Center for the remainder of the Ed Jacoby Invitational tomorrow morning. The first event will begin at 9 a.m.
