2017-18: CROSS COUNTRY- Appeared in two meets . . . Notched a top 25 finish at the Charles Bowles Invitational (Sept. 30), running 18:31.9 for 5k to get 25th . . . Also appeared at the Inland Empire Challenge (Oct. 14) . . . INDOOR- Narrowly missed qualifying for the finals of the 800m at the Mountain West Championships, running 2:17.13 in the prelims (Feb. 22-24) . . . Took third in her first appearance in the mile with a time of 5:08.23 at the  Boise State Challenge. Also took second in the 800m in 2:18.96, and fourth in the 4x400m races where she ran the first leg (Feb. 10) . . . Top 10 finish in the 800m at the Jacksons Nike Boise Indoor Invite, running a three-second personal best of 2:16.40 for fifth (Feb. 2-3) . . . Ran 1:38.34 for 600m to finish seventh at the Bronco Invitational (Jan. 20) . . . Opened the season with a personal best 2:19.31 in the 800m at the Jacksons Open (Dec. 9)

2016-17: CROSS COUNTRY – Did not compete…INDOOR – Competed in primarily the 400m and 800m races over the course of her first indoor season…was 19th in the 800m at the conference championships thanks to a 2:26.10…started the year off at the Jacksons Open and clocked a 1:02.84 (her season-best time) in the 400m, taking seventh place…ran a leg on the DMR at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and helped the squad take second with a 12:18.72…was eighth in the 400m (1:03.72) at the Ed Jacoby Invitational…took part in the 600m at the Bronco Invitational, clocked a 1:39.85…ninth in the 800m at the Jacksons/NB Indoor Invitational courtesy of a 2:22.56…ran an indoor-best 2:21.15 in the 800m to take fifth at the Boise State Challenge…OUTDOOR – Participated in three meets in the outdoor season…top-10 finish at the NNU Invitational in the 400m, running a 1:03.60 for sixth…clocked a career-best 2:19.55 at the Sun Angel Classic in the 800m…finished her season at the Border Clash with a seventh-place day in the 800m (2:22.90).

While competing at Robertson High School in Las Vegas, N.M., Morgan Diefendorf excelled in the 800m and won the 2015 New Mexico 4A-6A State Championship. She followed it up with a runner-up finish in the 2016 New Mexico 4A State Championship in the same event, logging a career-best time of 2:22.26. That same year she also helped the 1,600m medley relay team to the state title, running the anchor 800m leg. Diefendorf was also an outstanding prep soccer player, twice being named an all-state honoree along while finishing her high school career with 62 goals and 43 assists.  She was also the president of her high school’s National Honor Society chapter and graduated No. 1 in her class academically.
