While competing at Robertson High School in Las Vegas, N.M., Morgan Diefendorf excelled in the 800m and won the 2015 New Mexico 4A-6A State Championship. She followed it up with a runner-up finish in the 2016 New Mexico 4A State Championship in the same event, logging a career-best time of 2:22.26. That same year she also helped the 1,600m medley relay team to the state title, running the anchor 800m leg. Diefendorf was also an outstanding prep soccer player, twice being named an all-state honoree along while finishing her high school career with 62 goals and 43 assists.  She was also the president of her high school’s National Honor Society chapter and graduated No. 1 in her class academically.
