BOISE, Idaho – The Micron Technology Foundation will be the presenting sponsor for Boise State University’s Auction 2007, which will be held May 5, 2007.

"Micron is proud to be the title sponsor for the Boise State Auction 2007. It is through events like this that Micron can demonstrate our commitment to the university and the community,” said Steve Appleton, Micron’s chairman, CEO and president. “As a result of the scholarships the auction provides, we hope that more students will have access to a quality education.”

The auction, held every-other-year, has been a tradition at Boise State University since its inception. The 2007 event will mark the 13th Boise State Auction, with over $2.8 million raised in the previous 12 events.   The Bronco Athletic Association and the Boise State Alumni Association co-sponsor the evening. This coming year’s auction will be Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Boise Centre on the Grove. Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m., with a silent auction followed by dinner and a live auction.

The university is just starting its campaign to collect donations for Auction 2007. Alumni, boosters, businesses and individuals may donate items, cash and/or services to the auction. The Boise State Alumni Association will utilize its portion of the proceeds to benefit the student scholarship program. The Bronco Athletic Association will use proceeds from the auction to benefit the athletic scholarship endowment fund.
