Apsey Accepts AD Position at Carroll College

Sept. 5, 2014 BOISE, Idaho - Curt Apsey, Senior Associate Athletic Director at Boise State, has accepted a position as the new Director of Athletics at Carroll College in Helena, Mont.

A 16-year member of the athletic department's executive staff at Boise State, Apsey begins his new position on Oct. 6, 2014.

"While we are very excited at this new position for Curt, at the same time we are sorry to lose a vital member of our senior staff," Boise State Director of Athletics Mark Coyle stated. "Curt has served many roles during his career as a Bronco and he was very instrumental in helping to make a smooth transition for me and my family to Boise three years ago. We wish all the best to Curt and his family knowing that he will do an outstanding job at Carroll College."

Apsey joined the Bronco staff in December of 1998. While his duties have covered a wide spectrum at Boise State, his main responsibilities have been external fundraising. In his tenure at Boise State, Apsey headed the capital campaign "Initiative for Athletic Excellence" to improve and expand athletic facilities. Some of those projects included the Caven-Williams Indoor Sports Complex, the Stueckle Sky Center (press box/luxury suites), the Arguinchona Basketball Complex and the recently completed Bleymaier Football Center.

"Thanks to everyone at Boise State who made our stay here one we'll remember the rest of our lives," Apsey said. "This has been an outstanding experience both professionally and personally for me and my family. While it will be tough leave, we are very excited about this new chapter of our lives."

Apsey also served on senior athletic staffs at CSU San Bernardino and CSU Bakersfield before coming to Boise State. He is a 1988 Cal Poly graduate.
