BOISE, Idaho Valerie Tichenor, who has served as the director of special events in the athletic department at Boise State University since March of 2006, has been named executive director of the new press box / sky club addition currently under construction at Bronco Stadium.

            Tichenor will oversee the new $35.9 million facility, which is scheduled for completion this August.  Her responsibilities include overall management, scheduling, setup and catering, conferences, special events and game-day activities, along with coordinating the event calendar for the new structure. 

When Boise State athletic teams are not involved in events at Bronco Stadium, the facility will be leased for meetings, conferences and special events. 

Tichenor has extensive experience in intercollegiate athletics, having served as the executive director of the SkyJacks Foundation at Northern Arizona University from 1995 to 2000, and in several positions in the Bronco athletic department prior to her current position. 

The expansion is creating a new concourse on the west side of the stadium, a state-of-the-art press box, suites, loge boxes and club seats.  The structure will also include the 7,100-square-foot Double R Ranch Club, the 5,200-square-foot Bronco Club Room, the 5,000-square-foot press level room, a 700-square-foot conference room, a full-service kitchen, a new ticket office and two new merchandise stores.

The new concourse, which will be three times as wide as the old concourse, will enhance amenities for everyone sitting on the west side of Bronco Stadium.  Restroom fixtures will double, while the concession points-of-sales will more than triple.

Revenue generated by the facility will pay for the additions and upgrades, and provide $600,000 each year for the Boise State academic building fund.
