Boise State Athletics Hosts BroncoFest 2012
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State University Athletics will host BroncoFest 2012 presented by Milk Victory April 14 (Saturday), a day-long event beginning with the “Beat Coach Pete” Scholarship Run/Walk and culminating with the football team’s Spring Game.

“Beat Coach Pete” is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., at the Boise State Recreation Center Plaza. Registration can be done online at rec.boisestate.edu, or by calling 426-1131. More information on the race can be found HERE.
Entry to the race is $15 for Boise State students and kids under 10 years of age, $25 for adults and a family race entry is $60 (up to five people). Coach Pete will also donate an additional $5 to the scholarship fund for every racer who crosses the finish line ahead of him.
The 2012 Spring Game presented by Groove Entertainment Technologies is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., at Bronco Stadium. Tickets are $7, and can be purchased online at idahotickets.com, at the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 426-4737.
The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2011 Football Highlight DVD, and the first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2012 Football Schedule Card.
Stop by the marketing table located by the Hall of Fame Plaza to compete in the Photo Scavenger Hunt from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Prizes include two tickets to the Broncos’ football game against Miami (Ohio), a $100 gift card to the BroncoShop and much more. A craft show will be held from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Hall of Fame Plaza, featuring handmade Bronco-themed items from more than 30 local crafters, including jewelry, guitars, rocking horses, toys, glass, chairs, clothes, housewares, food and games.
The Third Annual Thunder on the Blue Car Show will be held at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex beginning at 10:30 a.m., and awards will be distributed at 2:15 p.m. Car registration is $20, and all proceeds support Boise State summer scholarships. Three of the Broncos’ athletic teams will be in competition, Saturday:
- The Broncos’ women’s tennis team will host Senior Day against Air Force at the Appleton Tennis Complex beginning at 10 a.m., the team’s final home match of the season.
- The Boise State softball team will host UNLV at 1 p.m., at the Mountain Cove Softball Field. Admission is free with your “Beat Coach Pete” T-shirt.
- The Bronco soccer team will host Northwest Nazarene in an exhibition match at the Boas Soccer Center, beginning at 1 p.m.
Also participating in BroncoFest 2012 are the gymnastics and swimming and diving teams. The Bronco gymnasts will be hosting an autograph session at the Kinesiology Annex from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m., and the Bronco swimming and diving team will be hosting an open swim at the team’s pool in the Kinesiology Annex from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission to the pool is $5, which includes access to the diving boards, and members of the team will serve as lifeguards.
Additionally, Optimist Youth Football and Cheer sign-ups will be held in the Caven-Williams Sports Complex from 1-5 p.m.
