Athlete of the Week 2/22-28: Amber Boucher

BOISE, Idaho - Amber Boucher had quite a week at the WAC swimming and diving championships, winning five golds and the WAC Swimmer of the Year. For her outstanding performances, she has been named Bronco Athlete of the Week.

Boucher, a native of Keizer, Ore., brought home individual WAC titles in the 100 fly and 50 free as well as helping the 800 free relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay to WAC titles. She also took second in the 100 free and helped the 200 free relay team to a second-place finish to give her seven medals on the weekend. The sophomore also broke three individual records on the weekend and earned four NCAA provisional times.  Boucher's record-breaking weekend helped the Broncos to their first-ever WAC title as a team in only their fourth year of existence.

The regular season wraps up this week for the men's and women's basketball teams. The men's team hosts Hawaii and San Jose State on Thursday and Saturday, repectively, while the women's team travels Utah State before hosting Louisiana Tech on Saturday. The women's golf team kicks off their season at the Fresno State Lexus Classic today and tomorrow. The gymnastics team will host BYU and Utah State on Friday while the softball team travels to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech and Wichita State. The men's tennis team will also compete at the Pacific Coast Doubles this weekend.
