BOISE, Idaho - Rebecca Kepolino scored in double figures twice last week and helped the women's basketball team to their third straight win to be named this week's Broncos Athlete of the Week. Kepolino helped the Broncos down Idaho at home on Wednesday and San Jose State on Saturday.
Kepolino contributed 14 points and five rebounds in Wednesday's 73-63 win over in-state rivals Idaho. The win clinched a winning season for the Broncos and improved their home record to 12-1. The senior from Costa Mesa, Calif., led the Broncos with 19 points in Saturday's win over San Jose State, which snapped the Broncos eight-game road losing streak.
The Broncos will next take trip to the islands where they face Hawaii on Wednesday. On Saturday, the Broncos will host WAC leader Fresno State in Taco Bell Arena.
It's a championship week for Bronco Nation as the wrestling team, track and field teams and the swimming and diving team all will compete in their respective conference championships. The men's basketball team will return to WAC play with a trip to Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State. The men's golf team will compete in the Snowman Invitational today and tomorrow and the gymnastics will travel to Southern Utah for a tri-meet. Both tennis teams are also in action as the men's team travels to BYU and the women's team hosts New Mexico on Thursday and Washington State on Sunday.
