Boise State Earns 45 WAC All-Academic Honors for Fall 2009

DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference announced its 2009 Fall Sports All-Academic team Wed., Jan. 20, naming 45 Broncos in five sports to the team.

The Broncos were led with 22 student-athletes from football being named to the team, followed by eight being named from soccer. Three additional teams, including men's cross country, women's cross country and volleyball each placed five student-athletes to the team.

Boise State improved this season, placing six additional student-athletes to the team, compared to the 39 named to the 2008 Fall Sports WAC All-Academic team.

A total of 312 student-athletes throughout the conference were named to the 2009 list for the fall.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
